FOCAS launched a new program called “Kitten Season” this past week aimed at bringing awareness of the plight of unwanted animals to the fourth and fifth grade students in Mark Twain School District. The program has two parts; the first demonstrates how quickly unneutered cats can multiply. The students were astounded that within just a year or so, things would get completely out of hand! The second part of the program teaches facts regarding the plight of homeless animals via the game of bingo. The students were engaged and interested!
